Objectives and Lecture Notes
Reading Assignment: Aron Chapter 5

1. Recognize what is meant by to a normal distribution of means and convert parameters from a normal distribution of scores to a normal distribution of means with a given number in the samples.

2. Use population parameters and the observed mean of a sample to test a hypothesis.

3. Compute a confidence interval for means of a sample from population parameters.

4. Consider the uses of confidence intervals rather than or in addition to hypothesis tests.

5. Debate the merits of considering marginally significant findings.
